Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 47 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1979, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping Act 1979 (Isle of Man) Order 1984 and shall come into operation on 31st August 1984.
2. Section 31(1) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1979 shall extend to the Isle of Man as part of its law, with the modifications specified in the Schedule to this Order.

Article 2
1. Any reference to an enactment shall be construed, unless the contrary intention appears, as a reference to it as it has effect in the Isle of Man.
2. For "Secretary of State" (in both places) there shall be substituted "Isle of Man Harbour Board".
3. For "made by statutory instrument" there shall be substituted "made with the approval of Tynwald".
4. All the words from "and any statutory instrument" to the end shall be omitted.
This Order extends to the Isle of Man section 31(1) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1979. That provision amends section 85 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894 (c. 60) (which relates to dues for space occupied by deck cargo) by substituting a new subsection (3).
