Whereas a draft of this Order has been laid before Parliament and has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament in accordance with section 1(4) of the Hovercraft Act 1968(1):
Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 1(1)(h) and (3)(g) of the Hovercraft Act 1968, and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Hovercraft (Application of Enactments) (Amendment) Order 1982 and shall come into operation on 27th May 1982.
2. The Hovercraft (Application of Enactments) Order 1972(2) is hereby amended as follows:-
For the entry relating to the Merchant Shipping (Dangerous Goods) Rules 1978 in columns 1, 2 and 3 of Part B of Schedule 1, there shall be substituted:

This Order amends the Hovercraft (Application of Enactments) Order 1972 by substituting for the entry in Schedule 1 thereto relating to the Merchant Shipping (Dangerous Goods) Rules 1978 (inserted by S.I. 1978/1913) a reference to the Merchant Shipping (Dangerous Goods) Regulations 1981; it thereby applies the 1981 Regulations to United Kingdom registered hovercraft and to all other hovercraft within United Kingdom territorial waters.
section 48 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1979 (c.39) applied the 1979 Act to provisions made with respect to hovercraft under section 1(1)(h) of the 1968 Act.
