Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 5(2) of the Taking of Hostages Act 1982, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Taking of Hostages (Isle of Man) (No. 2) Order 1982 and shall come into operation on 24th December 1982.
2. In this Order, "the 1982 Act" means
3. Section 1 of the 1982 Act shall extend to the Isle of Man with-
(a)the substitution, in subsection (1), of the words "the Isle of Man" for the words "the United Kingdom"; and
(b)the substitution, in subsection (2), of the word "information" for the word "indictment".
4. Section 2 of the 1982 Act shall extend to the Isle of Man with-
(a)the substitution, in subsection (1), of the words "except by or with the consent of Her Majesty's Attorney General for the Isle of Man" for paragraphs (a) and (b); and
(b)the omission of subsections (2) and (3).
5. Sections 3(2) and 6(1) of the 1982 Act shall extend to the Isle of Man.
6. The Taking of Hostages (Isle of Man) Order 1982 is hereby revoked.

This Order extends to the Isle of Man provisions of the Taking of Hostages Act 1982, with exceptions, adaptations and modifications. It revokes and replaces an earlier Order (S.I. 1982/1674) which contained an error.
