The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 76(2) and (4) of the Transport Act 1982, and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Transport Act 1982 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1982.
2. The 20th December 1982 is hereby appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Transport Act 1982 come into force, namely-
Part I (the National Bus Company),
Section 64 (proceedings in respect of offences in connection with Crown vehicles),
Section 67 (extended pension provision for members of transport Boards), and
Section 71 (Northern Ireland).
3. The coming into force on 20th December 1982 of section 64 of the Transport Act 1982 does not apply in relation to any proceedings for an offence under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1967 the Transport Act 1968 or the Road Traffic Act 1972 committed or alleged to have been committed before that date.

By this Order 20th December 1982 is appointed as the day on which the provisions of the Transport Act 1982 specified in Article 2 come into force.
The following provisions of the Transport Act 1982 were brought into force on 1st November 1982 by the Transport Act 1982 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1982 (S.I. 1982/1561):-
Sections 16, 58, 60, 61, 68, 70 and 72 (so far as it relates to sections 53 and 54).
Schedule 5, paragraphs 25 and 26;
Schedule 5 insofar as it relates to section 72(2) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1967.
