In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 35 of the Police Act 1964, and after furnishing the Police Negotiating Board for the United Kingdom with a draft of the Regulations in accordance with section 2(1) of the Police Negotiating Board Act 1980, I hereby make the following Regulations:-
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Police Cadets (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1982.
2. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1st December 1982 and shall have effect for the purposes of Regulation 3(b) as from 1st September 1982.
3. The Police Cadets Regulations 1979(1) shall be amended as follows:-
(a)for paragraph (1)(b) of Regulation 10 there shall be substituted the following provision:-
"(b)the period consists of not more than 7 days.";
(b)for the Table in Schedule 2 (scales of pay) there shall be substituted the following Table:-

(c)for paragraph 2 of Schedule 3 (charge for board and lodging) there shall be substituted the following paragraph:-
"2. The annual rate of charge shall be-
(a)in the case of a police cadet attached to the City of London or Metropolitan Police force, £363;
(b)in any other case, £339.".

These Regulations amend the Police Cadets Regulations 1979. Regulation 3(a) entitles a police cadet to uncertificated sick leave for a period not exceeding 7 days. Regulation 3(b) increases the pay of cadets from 1st September 1982 (retrospective effect is authorised by section 33(4), as applied by section 35(2), of the Police Act 1964). Regulation 3(c) increases from 1st December 1982 the charges payable by cadets for board and lodging provided by police authorities.
