The Secretary of State for Social Services, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 25(4) of the Social Security (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1977, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following order:-
1. This order may be cited as the Social Security (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1977 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1977.
2. For the purposes of the repeal of section 113 of the Employment Protection Act 1975 (payments which are to be treated as earnings for social security purposes) and paragraph 41 of Schedule 7 to the Supplementary Benefits Act 1976 (amendment of the said section 113) 6th April 1977 shall be the appointed day for the coming into operation of section 24(6) of, and Schedule 2 to, the Social Security (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1977 (enactments repealed).

This Order specifies that the repeal of section 113 of the Employment Protection Act 1975 (payments which are to be treated as earnings for social security purposes) and paragraph 41 of Schedule 7 to the Supplementary Benefits Act 1976 (amendment of that section) provided for in the Social Security (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1977 is to take effect on 6th April 1977.
