Now, therefore, Her Majesty, by virtue and in exercise of the powers in that behalf by the Act or otherwise in Her Majesty vested, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the Consular Conventions (Czechoslovak Socialist Republic) Order 1976 and shall come into operation on the day on which the Convention enters into force, which day shall be notified in the London, Edinburgh and Belfast Gazettes.
2. Sections 1 and 2 of the Act shall apply to the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.

This Order provides for the application of sections 1 and 2 of the Consular Conventions Act 1949 to the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and enables Her Majesty to give effect to the provisions relating to administration of estates in the Consular Convention between the United Kingdom and the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic which was signed at Prague on 3rd April 1975.
The purport of sections 1 and 2 of the Act is stated in the preamble to this Order. Section 1 relates to England and, with the modifications contained in section 7 of the Act, to Northern Ireland; section 2 relates to Scotland.
