These Regulations provide for the payment of increases under the Pensions (Increase) Act 1971 on the following kinds of compensation payable under the Colleges of Education (Compensation) Regulations 1975:-
(a) long-term compensation for loss of employment or loss or diminution of emoluments;
(b) retirement compensation for loss of employment or loss or diminution of emoluments;
(c) compensation to the widow, child or other dependant or to the personal representatives of a claimant who was a pensionable officer.
The Regulations apply to a compensation payment which does not already qualify for increases under the Pensions (Increase) Act 1971, namely, a payment in respect of service as a member of the non-teaching staff of a teachers' training establishment which is not maintained by a local education authority.
