The Secretary of State for Education and Science, with the consent of the Minister for the Civil Service, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1948 as amended by paragraph 25 of schedule 6 to the Superannuation Act 1972 and vested in him(1), hereby makes the following rules:-
1.-(1) These rules may be cited as the Superannuation (Teachers' Interchange) (Revocation) Rules 1974 and shall come into operation on 1st June 1974.
(2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of these rules as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament; and section 38(2) (effect of repeals) of that Act shall have effect in relation to the rules specified in the schedule as if they were enactments repealed by an Act.
2.-(1) The rules specified in the schedule are hereby revoked.
(2) Paragraph (1) shall not affect the operation of the rules thereby revoked in relation to any person who became, or ceased to be, employed as a teacher in reckonable service before 1st April 1972.

These Rules revoke the rules specified in the schedule, which contain provisions relating to the pensions of persons transferring between teaching and the employments to which those rules apply. Those provisions have now been superseded by the Teachers' Superannuation (Added Years and Interchange) Regulations 1974 (S.I. 1974/260).
