The Secretary of State for Education and Science and the Minister for the Civil Service, in joint exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1948 as amended by paragraph 25 of schedule 6 to the Superannuation Act 1972 and vested in them(1), hereby make the following rules:-
1.-(1) These rules may be cited as the Superannuation (Teaching and Civil Service) Interchange (Revocation) Rules 1974 and shall come into operation on 1st June 1974.
(2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of these rules as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament; and section 38(2) (effect of repeals) of that Act shall have effect in relation to the rules revoked by these rules as if they were enactments repealed by an Act.
2.-(1) The Superannuation (Teaching and Civil Service) Interchange Rules 1970(2) and the Superannuation (Teaching and Civil Service) Interchange (Amendment) Rules 1972(3) are hereby revoked.
(2) Paragraph (1) shall not affect the operation of the rules thereby revoked in relation to any person who became, or ceased to be, employed as a teacher in reckonable service or, as the case may be, as a civil servant before 1st June 1972.

These Rules revoke rules relating to the pensions of persons transferring between teaching and the Civil Service and vice versa. Those rules have now been superseded by the Teachers' Superannuation (Added Years and Inter change) Regulations 1974 (S.I. 1974/260) and the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme made under section 1 of the Superannuation Act 1972.
