Whereas Her Majesty is satisfied that in the event of the benefits conferred by Part I of the Foreign Judgments (Reciprocal Enforcement) Act 1933 being extended to judgments given in the superior courts of the Bailiwick of Jersey substantial reciprocity of treatment will be ensured as respects the enforcement in the Bailiwick of Jersey of judgments given in the superior courts of the United Kingdom:
Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 1 of the Foreign Judgments (Reciprocal Enforcement) Act 1933 as extended by the Reciprocal Enforcement of Judgments (General Application to His Majesty's Dominions, etc.) Order 1933(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Reciprocal Enforcement of Foreign Judgments (Jersey) Order 1973 and shall come into operation on 1st May 1973.
2. Part I of the Foreign Judgments (Reciprocal Enforcement) Act 1933 shall extend to the Bailiwick of Jersey.
3. The Royal Court of Jersey and the Court of Appeal of Jersey shall be deemed superior courts of Jersey for the purposes of the said Part I.

This Order extends Part I of the Foreign Judgments (Reciprocal Enforcement) Act 1933 to the judgments of the Royal Court and the Court of Appeal of Jersey. Such judgments given after 1st May 1973 will be enforceable in the United Kingdom upon registration in the High Court, the Court of Session or the High Court in Northern Ireland.
