The Secretary of State for Social Services in exercise of his powers under section 69(3) of the Children and Young Persons Act 1969 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following order:-
1. This order may be cited as the Cessation of Approved Institutions (Approved Schools) (No. 2) (Amendment) Order 1973, and shall come into operation on 30th September 1973.
2. The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply to the interpretation of this order as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
3. The Cessation of Approved Institutions (Approved Schools) (No. 2) Order 1973(1) shall be amended as follows:-
(a)in article 2(1) (Interpretation) the reference to Planning Area number 4 shall be omitted,
(b)in the Schedule the words "Area No. 4," "St. John's Home, Birmingham" and "Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul" shall be omitted.

This Order amends the Cessation of Approved Institutions (Approved Schools) (No. 2) Order 1973 by removing St. John's Home, Birmingham from the Schedule.
