The Secretary of State for the Environment, with the approval of the Treasury, hereby makes this Order in exercise of his powers under paragraphs 1 and 4 of Schedule 2 to the Transport Act 1968 and of all other enabling powers:-
1. This Order shall come into operation on 4th August 1972 and may be cited as the National Bus Company (Commencing Capital Debt) Order 1972.
2. The amount of the commencing capital debt of the National Bus Company due to the Secretary of State, shall be £97,625,178.

This Order fixes the commencing capital debt of the National Bus Company at £97,625,178. The sum represents the assets taken over by the National Bus Company from the Transport Holding Company and the British Railways Board under sections 28 and 29 of the Transport Act 1968.
