And whereas such a Consular Convention between Her Majesty in respect of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Council of State of the Polish People's Republic was signed at London on 23rd February 1967(1) and will enter into force on 13th August 1971:
Now, therefore, Her Majesty, by virtue and in exercise of the powers in that behalf by the Act or otherwise in Her Majesty vested, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the Consular Conventions (Polish People's Republic) Order 1971 and shall come into operation on 13th August 1971.
2. Sections 1 and 2 of the Act shall apply to the Polish People's Republic.

This Order provides for the application of sections 1 and 2 of the Consular Conventions Act 1949 to Poland and enables Her Majesty to give effect to the provisions relating to administration of estates in the Consular Convention between the United Kingdom and Poland which was signed at London on 23rd February 1967.
The purport of sections 1 and 2 of the Act is stated in the preamble to this Order. Section 1 relates to England and, with the modifications contained in section 7 of the Act, to Northern Ireland; section 2 relates to Scotland.
