Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 10 of the Carriage by Air Act 1961, and of that section as applied by section 5(2) of the Carriage by Air (Supplementary Provisions) Act 1962, as extended in both cases to Jersey by the Carriage by Air (Jersey) Order 1967(1), and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Carriage by Air Acts (Application of Provisions) (Jersey) Order 1967 and shall come into operation on 1st June 1967.
2.-(1) The Carriage by Air Acts (Application of Provisions) Order 1967(2) shall apply to the Bailiwick of Jersey.
(2) In that Order as so applied any reference to any provision of the Carriage by Air Act 1961 or of the Carriage by Air (Supplementary Provisions) Act 1962 shall be construed as a reference to that provision as extended to the Bailiwick of Jersey by the Carriage by Air (Jersey) Order 1967.
3. The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the purpose of the interpretation of this Order as it applies for the purpose of the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

This Order provides that the Carriage by Air Acts (Application of Provisions) Order 1967 shall apply to the Bailiwick of Jersey. That Order applies the principles of the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague, 1955, and of the Convention, supplementary to the Warsaw Convention, for the unification of certain rules relating to international carriage by air performed by a person other than the contracting carrier (the "Guadalajara Convention") to carriage of mail and to non-international carriage within the meaning of those Conventions.
