ADMINISTRATION OF ESTATES POWERS OF ENTRY IN RELATION TO CONSULAR OFFICES

And whereas a Consular Convention between Her Majesty in respect of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Federal President of the Republic of Austria was signed at Vienna on 24th June 1960 (1) which provides for matters for which provision is made in the said sections 1 and 2 and section 4, and which enters into force on the thirtieth day after the date of exchange of instruments of ratification:
And whereas instruments of ratification were exchanged on 26th November 1963:
Now, therefore, Her Majesty, by virtue and in exercise of the powers in that behalf by the Act or otherwise in Her Majesty vested, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
1. Sections 1 and 2 and section 4 of the Act shall apply to the Republic of Austria.
2. This Order may be cited as the Consular Conventions (Republic of Austria) Order 1963. It shall come into operation on 26th December 1963.

This Order provides for the application of sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Consular Conventions Act 1949 to the Republic of Austria and thus enables Her Majesty to give effect to the Consular Convention between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Austria which was signed at Vienna on 24th June 1960.
The purport of sections 1, 2, and 4 of the Act is stated in the preamble to this Order. Sections 1 and 4 relate to England and, with the modifications contained in section 7 of the Act, to Northern Ireland; sections 2 and 4 relate to Scotland.
