7. Expenses of district councils in connection with war memorials.
[ (1) [
A district council]
— (a)
may incur reasonable expenditure
—
(i) in the alteration of any war memorial so as to make it serve as a memorial in connection with any war subsequent to that in connection with which it was erected; and
(ii) in the correction of any error or omission in the inscription on any such memorial; (b)
subject to the approval of the Ministry

(ii) may erect a war memorial either alone or jointly with any other such council or councils.]
may maintain, repair, protect and light any war memorial whether vested in it or not. ]

11. Short title and construction.
— (1) This Act may be cited as the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland), 1923, and shall be construed as one with the Local Government Acts (Northern Ireland), 1898 to 1922, and those Acts and this Act may be cited together as the Local Government Acts (Northern Ireland), 1898 to 1923.
