Summary
The application relates to the generation, distribution, tracking and redemption of lottery tickets in a lottery system. In accordance with the guidance set out by the Court of Appeal in Aerotel, the hearing officer found that the contribution made by the invention related to the use of conventional blockchain technology in a lottery system in order to improve resistance to tampering. The hearing officer found this to be a business consideration implemented by way of a computer program, so refused the application.
