Summary
1 The application concerns a process of providing structure to unstructured data received from a number of sources. The system takes the external information and through a process of identifying similar attributes, using a pattern matching algorithm and probability scoring, combines the records to create a combined data record.
The Hearing Officer applied theAerotel/Macrossantest and briefly considered the signposts laid out inHTC v Apple.He decided that the contribution made by the invention was excluded as a program for a computer as such. The application was refused under section 18(3).
