Summary
J Maple & Son Limited opposed Mr Pownall's application to amend the patent in suit on the grounds that the proposed amendments added subject matter and did not distinguish over the prior art which was the reason for the application, and that the application was made in bad faith. In a decision taken on the papers, the Hearing Officer allowed the amendments and awarded costs to the applicant.
