Summary
The opposition was based on the opponents’ registration of their mark VERITAS, in Class 9.
The Hearing Officer considered the goods in the respective specification to be ‘very similar’, and the similarities in the marks to ‘far outweigh the differences’. In the result he concluded that a likelihood of confusion existed, and the opposition succeeded accordingly.
