Summary
The applicant failed to respond to an official letter objecting to the claimed invention not being patentable subject matter and offering the applicant an opportunity to be heard before his application was formally refused. In the opinion of the examiner the application was not patentable as it merely described a method of doing business. In the absence of observations or a request to be heard from the applicant, the application was refused since it was not an invention for the purposes of the Act as stated in section 1(2)(c) and for failure to respond within the specified period.
