Brighter Futures for Children Limited
The complainant requested a record of part of a child protection conference attended by their former partner from Brighter Futures for Children Limited (“Brighter Futures”). Brighter Futures has refused to provide the information requested, citing section 40(2) of FOIA (personal information) as its basis for doing so. The Commissioner’s decision is that Brighter Futures is entitled to withhold the majority of the requested information under section 40(2) of FOIA. The Commissioner has determined that the remainder of the information is the complainant’s own personal data and is therefore exempt from disclosure under section 40(1) of FOIA. The Commissioner does not require further steps.
