Ards and North Down Borough Council
The complainant contacted the Commissioner for a decision on the time taken by Ards and North Down Borough Council (“the Council”) to respond to their information requests. The complainant stated that, while the Council was responding to their requests within the statutory timeframe of 20 working days, they did not believe that the Council was behaving within the spirit of the act as it was failing to provide its responses promptly. The Commissioner’s decision is that the public authority has not breached section 10(1) of FOIA and has provided valid responses to the complainant’s requests within the statutory time frame of 20 working days. No steps are required.
