Avon and Somerset Constabulary
The complainant has requested copies of the CCTV and other evidence used to convict the “kill the bill” demonstrators who took part in the protest on 21 March 2021. Avon and Somerset Police refused to disclose the requested information citing section 30(1)(a)(b) and (c) of the FOIA. The Commissioner has used his discretion to apply section 40(2) – (third party personal data) of FOIA to the requested information. The Commissioner considers that the information is exempt from disclosure under section 40(2) and does not require the public authority to take any steps as a result of this decision notice.
