Chief Constable of Merseyside Police
The complainant has requested information about referrals made to the counter terrorism service, Prevent. Merseyside Police refused to disclose the requested information, citing sections 24(1) and section 31(1)(a) and (b) of FOIA.The Commissioner’s decision is that section 24(1) is engaged and the public interest favours maintaining the exemption and withholding the requested information. The Commissioner does not require Merseyside Police to take any further steps on this matter.
FOI 24:
Complaint not upheld
