Northumbria Police
The Commissioner’s decision is that Northumbria Police is correct to rely on section 30(3) of FOIA to neither confirm nor deny it holds specific roster records as the information, if held, would be exempt from disclosure under section 30(1), which concerns investigations and proceedings. Northumbria Police did not comply with section 17(1) of FOIA as it did not issue a refusal notice within the required timescale of 20 working days. It is not necessary for Northumbria Police to take any corrective steps.
