Home Office
The complainant has requested, from the Home Office, information about the criteria used to assess which marriage referrals should be investigated. The Home Office provided a copy of two annexes, withholding some content under sections 31(1)(a) (prejudice to prevention or detection of crime) and (and 40(2) (third party personal information) of FOIA. The Commissioner’s decision is that the Home Office was entitled to rely on sections 31(1)(a) and 40(3) of FOIA to withhold the requested information. The Commissioner does not require the Home Office to take any steps.
