Department for Infrastructure (Northern Ireland)
The complainant requested information relating to the future direction of renewable energy. The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) confirmed it held the requested report but refused to provide it, citing regulation 12(4)(d) (material in the course of completion) of the EIR. The Commissioner’s decision is that DfI correctly applied regulation 12(4)(d) of the EIR to the withheld information and that the public interest favours maintaining the exception. The Commissioner requires no steps to be taken as a result of this decision.
