Canal & River Trust
The complainant has requested particular meeting minutes and papers from the Canal & River Trust (‘CRT’). CRT did not provide a response to the request. Its position for a number of months was that it was not obliged to provide any response since the requested information fell outside the scope of its obligations under the FOIA. CRT subsequently provided the complainant with a response to his request. The Commissioner’s decision is as follows: CRT breached section 10(1) of the FOIA as it did not provide the complainant with a response to his request within 20 working days. Since CRT has now responded to the request, the Commissioner does not require it to take any remedial steps.
FOI 10:
Complaint upheld
