30 June 2008, Central government
The complainant requested documents relating to internal communications held by the Home Office relating to his company’s use of the Freedom of Information Act. The Home Office refused to disclose this information under section 36 of the Act. The Commissioner has investigated and found that section 36 is engaged; however the Commissioner finds that the public interest favours disclosure of the information. The Commissioner requires the public authority to disclose the withheld information within 35 calendar days of this notice. Information Tribunal appeal number (EA/2008/0062) has been dismissed.
