Decision notes | [2019] UKFTT 253 (PC). Application for adverse possession of a wooded area once forming part of a large estate. The field was enclosed by fencing which had been there for many years before the applicants purchased the large house and grounds. The field was unregistered but belonged to the children of the previous owner of an adjoining house on the edge of the estate. The Applicants’ limited acts on the fields (burning bonfires, occasionally clearing vermin) fell far short of the acts of occupation needed to establish adverse possession. The application failed. |
