The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 28(2) of the Good Food Nation (Scotland) Act 2022( 1).
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Good Food Nation (Scotland) Act 2022 (Commencement No. 1) Regulations 2023 and come into force on 30 June 2023.
(2) In these Regulations, “ the Act” means the Good Food Nation (Scotland) Act 2022.
2. 30 June 2023 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act—
(a) section 1 (requirement to produce plan),
(b) section 2 (preparation of plan: principles),
(c) section 4 (preparation of plan: consultation),
(d) section 5 (preparation of plan: consideration of international instruments),
(e) section 9 (publication of documents: inclusive communications).
3. 31 December 2023 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act—
(a) section 3 (requirement to lay proposed plan before the parliament),
(b) section 7 (reporting),
(c) section 8 (review and revision of plan).

These Regulations bring sections 1, 2, 4, 5 and 9 of the Good Food Nation (Scotland) Act 2022 (“ the Act”) into force on 30 June 2023. These Regulations bring section 3, 7 and 8 of the Act into force on 31 December 2023.
The Bill for the Act received Royal Assent on 26 July 2022. Sections 24, 25, 27, 28 and 29 came into force on the following day.
