The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 90(3) of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021(
).
Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 (Commencement) (Scotland) Regulations 2021 and come into force on 29 June 2021.
Appointed day
2. 29 June 2021 is the day appointed for the coming into force of section 74(2) and part 2 of schedule 3 of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 (amendments relating to offences committed outside the UK).

EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations bring into force, on 29 June 2021, section 74(2) and part 2 of schedule 3 of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 (“the Act”). These provisions extend extraterritorial jurisdiction to certain sexual offences under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act
2009 (asp 9), the offence of stalking under section 39 of the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act
2010 (asp 13)and the common law offence of assault. The provisions also make amendments to existing extraterritorial offences under section 11(1) and (2) of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act
1995 (c. 46).
The Bill for the Act received Royal Assent on 29 April 2021. Of those provisions extending to Scotland, section 81 and sections 85 to 91 came into force on the day the Act was passed.
