Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1
The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 1(1) and (3) of schedule 2 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018(1) and all other powers enabling them to do so.
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (EU Exit) (Scotland) (Amendment) Regulations 2019 and come into force on exit day.
2. In section 27(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981(2), in the definition of "wild bird", after "visitor to" insert "the United Kingdom or".

These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 1(1) and (3) of schedule 2 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018. Regulation 2 amends the definition of "wild bird" in section 27(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 to address a deficiency arising from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union.
1981 c.69. The definition of "wild bird" in section 27(1), as it extends to Scotland, was amended by paragraph 23 of schedule 6 of the Nature Conservation (Scotland) Act 2004 (asp 6) and section 2 of the Wildlife and Natural Environment (Scotland) Act 2011 (asp 6).
