The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 29(3) and (4) of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1987(1) and all other powers enabling them to do so.
1. This Order may be cited as the Homeless Persons (Unsuitable Accommodation) (Scotland) Amendment Order 2017 and comes into force on 2nd October 2017.
2.-(1) The Homeless Persons (Unsuitable Accommodation) (Scotland) Order 2014(2) is amended as follows.
(2) In article 7(2) (temporary accommodation) for "14" substitute "7".

This Order amends the Homeless Persons (Unsuitable Accommodation) (Scotland) Order 2014 to reduce the period of time, during which accommodation can be provided which would otherwise be unsuitable, from 14 to 7 days.
A Business and Regulatory Impact Assessment has been prepared and placed in the Scottish Parliament Information Centre. A copy of this can be obtained from the Better Homes Division, Area 1-H, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh EH6 6QQ and online at www.legislation.co.uk.
1987 c.26; Section 29(3) and (4) were inserted by section 9(1)(b) of the Homelessness etc. (Scotland) Act 2003 (asp 10). There are amendments to section 29 that are not relevant to this Order.
