SCOTTISH STATUTORY INSTRUMENTS

SECURITY INDUSTRY
The Private Security Industry Act 2001 (Commencement No. 2) (Scotland) Order 2007
The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 26(2) of the Private Security Industry Act 2001[
1], and having consulted the Secretary of State in accordance with section 26(2A)(b) of that Act[
2], make the following Order:
Citation and extent
1.
This Order may be cited as the Private Security Industry Act 2001 (Commencement No. 2) (Scotland) Order 2007.
2.
This Order extends to Scotland only.
Appointed day
3.
6th April 2007 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Private Security Industry Act 2001:–
(a) sections 14, 16 and 18; and
(b) section 15, so far as it is not already in force.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force for Scotland on 6th April 2007 those provisions of the Private Security Industry Act 2001 specified in article 3.
NOTE AS TO EARLIER COMMENCEMENT ORDERS
(This note is not part of the Order)
The following provisions of the Private Security Industry Act 2001 have been brought into force for Scotland by commencement order S.S.I. 2006/382 made before the date of this Order.

2001 c.12 ("the 2001 Act"); section 26 was amended by the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 (c.15), Schedule 15, paragraph 12 so as to extend the 2001 Act to Scotland and to provide that in the application of the 2001 Act to Scotland the reference in section 26(2) to the Secretary of State must be construed as a reference to the Scottish Ministers.back
