The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 16(1), (1A)(e) and (3)(i) and 36 of the Plant Varieties and Seeds Act 1964[
1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, after consultation in accordance with section 16(1) of that Act with representatives of such interests as appear to them to be concerned, hereby make the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Seeds (Fees) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2007 and shall come into force on 1st July 2007.
Amendment to Schedule 6 to the Seeds (Fees) (Scotland) Regulations 2002

In Schedule 6 to the Seeds (Fees) (Scotland) Regulations 2002[
2], Part B (Licensed Seed Testing Stations)–
(a) in paragraph (i) (annual fee payable during the currency of the licence), in column 4 for "1,800.00" substitute "1,500.00"; and
(b) in paragraph (ii) (fee payable by a Licensed Seed Testing Station in respect of an official examination of seed), in column 4 for "9.65" substitute "5.25".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations, which come into force on 1st July 2007, reduce certain prescribed fees payable to the Scottish Ministers by Licensed Seed Testing Stations. The annual licence fee is reduced from £1800 to £1500 and the fee payable in respect of an official examination of seed is reduced from £9.65 to £5.25.
No Regulatory Impact Assessment has been prepared in respect of these Regulations.
