CONSUMER PROTECTION
The Tobacco Advertising and Promotion Act 2002 (Commencement No. 10) (Scotland) Order 2006
The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 22(1) and (2) of the Tobacco Advertising and Promotion Act 2002[
1], hereby make the following Order:
Citation and extent
1.
—(1) This Order may be cited as the Tobacco Advertising and Promotion Act 2002 (Commencement No. 10) (Scotland) Order 2006.
(2) This Order extends to Scotland only.
Appointed day
2.
28th September 2006 is the appointed day for the coming into force of the Tobacco Advertising and Promotion Act 2002[
2] in so far as that Act is not already in force.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order, which extends to Scotland only, brings into force on 28th September 2006 all the provisions of the Tobacco Advertising and Promotion Act 2002 ("the Act") which are not already in force. Section 2 of the Act (the prohibition of tobacco advertising) was not previously in force in relation to website advertising. The Tobacco Advertising and Promotion Act 2002 etc. (Amendment) Regulations 2006 also inserts new provisions into the Act.
