The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 20(6)(b) of the Abolition of Feudal Tenure etc. (Scotland) Act 2000[
1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.
This Order may be cited as the Abolition of Feudal Tenure etc. (Scotland) Act 2000 (Specified Day) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 31st March 2006.
Specified day
2.
The day specified under section 20(6)(b) of the Abolition of Feudal Tenure etc. (Scotland) Act 2000 is 31st March 2006.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order specifies 31st March 2006 as the day on which the transitional period ends. The transitional period is the period referred to in section 20(5) of the Abolition of Feudal Tenure etc. (Scotland) Act 2000. During the transitional period land nominated as prospective dominant and servient tenements in a notice registered by virtue of section 20(3) of the Act are treated as dominant and servient tenements.
Specification of this date does not affect burdens that have been preserved.
