The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 73(f) and 74(l) of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980[1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Nursing and Midwifery Student Allowances (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 1st October 2003.
Amendment of the Nursing and Midwifery Student Allowances (Scotland) Regulations 1992
2.
Regulation 3(1)(a) of the Nursing and Midwifery Student Allowances (Scotland) Regulations 1992[2] is omitted.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations, which come into force on 1st October 2003, amend the Nursing and Midwifery Student Allowances (Scotland) Regulations 1992 ("the principal Regulations"). The principal Regulations govern allowances paid to persons attending courses of nursing and midwifery education leading to registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and prescribe the conditions and requirements subject to which allowances may be paid.
The principal Regulations are amended to the extent of removing as a condition attaching to eligibility for an allowance that a person is not at any time during their course an employee of an NHS Trust.
