The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 153(4) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990[1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
Citation, commencement and extent
1.
- (1) This Order may be cited as the Financial Assistance for Environmental Purposes (Scotland) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 1st April 2003.
(2) This Order extends to Scotland only.
Variation of section 153(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990
2.
Section 153(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990[2] (purposes for which financial assistance may be given) is varied by adding after paragraph (qq)-
"
(rr) the programme known as the Waste Minimisation and Recycling Programme;
(ss) the Carbon Trust;
(tt) any scheme for the regulation of emissions from motor vehicles.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order varies section 153(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 so as to enable the Scottish Ministers to give financial assistance to, or for the purposes of, the Waste Minimisation and Recycling Programme, the Carbon Trust and for any scheme for the regulation of emissions from motor vehicles.
