Whereas under section 17(1) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973[1] the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland on 17th January 2001 submitted to the Scottish Ministers a report on a review conducted under section 14(2) of that Act in which they made proposals for the transfer of a certain area between Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council, and in which they also made proposals for changes in electoral arrangements consequential on that change in local government areas; Now therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 17(2) of the said Act and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf the Scottish Ministers hereby make the following Order to give effect to the proposals of that Commission as submitted to them: Citation and commencement 1. This Order may be cited as the Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council Boundaries (Blackburn) Amendment Order 2002 and shall come into force on 1st June 2002. Interpretation 2. In this Order-
and, in the Schedule, any reference to an administrative boundary is a reference to a boundary existing immediately before the commencement of this Order.
(b) shall form part of electoral ward 45 (Kinellar and Westhill North) of the area of Aberdeenshire Council[4].
Commencing on the existing administrative boundary between Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council where the A96 bypass road crosses the Black Burn at NG Ref NJ 8260 1238; then generally northeastward, southeastward, northeastward and southeastward along the said administrative boundary to a point at NG Ref NJ 8316 1233 on an unnamed road leading to the B979 road; then westward along the said unnamed road to and southward along the B979 road to the A96 bypass road at Clinterty Roundabout; then westward along the said bypass to the point of commencement. EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Order) This Order transfers on 1st June 2002 between Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council the area of land described in the Schedule to this Order (article 4) and makes consequential changes to electoral arrangements (article 5).
