The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1, 2, 8 and 23(b) of the Animal Health Act 1981[1], and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order: Citation, commencement and extent 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Foot-and-Mouth Disease (Amendment) (No. 3) (Scotland) Order 2001 and shall come into force at 6.00 p.m. on 14th March 2001. (2) This Order extends to Scotland only. Amendment of the Foot-and-Mouth Disease Order 1983 2. - (1) The Foot-and-Mouth Disease Order 1983[2] is amended in accordance with the following paragraphs of this article. (2) In paragraph (1) of article 3 (interpretation), after the definition of "suspected animal" there shall be inserted the following definition-
(3) For paragraph (1)(a) of article 8 (restrictions to operate immediately on certification of suspected case of disease) there is substituted-
(4) In paragraph (3) of article 35B (declaration of a prohibited area)[4] for the words "a declaration" there is substituted the word "regulations".
