The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations: Citation, commencement and extent 1. - (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Specified Risk Material Order Amendment (Scotland) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 10th January 2001. (2) These Regulations extend to Scotland only. Amendments to the Specified Risk Material Order 1997 2. - (1) The Specified Risk Material Order 1997[2] is amended in accordance with paragraph (2) of this regulation. (2) In article 4 (specified bovine material), paragraph (1) is substituted by the following paragraph:-
(b) in relation to a bovine animal which was slaughtered or has died in the United Kingdom or Portugal at an age greater than 6 months, the following material:-
(ii) the thymus; (iii) the spleen; and (iv) the spinal cord;
(c) in relation to a bovine animal which was slaughtered or has died in the United Kingdom or Portugal at an age greater than 30 months, the vertebral column (including dorsal root ganglia); and
(ii) the tonsils; and (iii) the spinal cord.".
