The Registrar General, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 3(1), 25 and 26 of the Marriage (Scotland) Act 1977[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf and with the approval of the Scottish Ministers[2], hereby makes the following Regulations: Citation and commencement 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces (Fees) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 1st April 2001. Amendment of the Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces (Fees) (Scotland) Regulations 1998 2. In the first entry in Schedule 3 to the Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces (Fees) (Scotland) Regulations 1998[3] (submission of marriage notice), for the amount "12.00" specified in column 4 of that Schedule there shall be substituted "13.00". JAMES WALLACE A member of the Scottish Executive St Andrew's House, Edinburgh 6th December 2000 EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations amend the Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces (Fees) (Scotland) Regulations 1998 so as to increase the fee for the submission of a marriage notice with effect from 1st April 2001. The fee payable for the submission of a marriage notice under the Marriage (Scotland) Act 1977 is increased from £12.00 to £13.00 (regulation 2).
