The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6(1) of the Budget (Scotland) Act 2000[1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf hereby make the following Order, a draft of which has, in accordance with section 6(2) of that Act, been laid before and approved by resolution of the Scottish Parliament:
Citation and commencement
1.
This Order may be cited as the Budget (Scotland) Act 2000 (Amendment) Order 2000 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.
Amendment of the Budget (Scotland) Act 2000
2.
- (1) The Budget (Scotland) Act 2000 is amended as follows.
(2) In Schedule 1, in entry number 2 (Scottish Executive Development Department) in column 1, after "other sundry services in connection with the environment;" there is inserted "grants to voluntary organisations;".
(3) In Part 2 of Schedule 2 (Scottish Executive Development Department), at the end of the table there is inserted-

(4) In Part 7 of Schedule 2 (Scottish Executive (Administration)) at the end of the table there is inserted-

Receipts from sequestration

(5) In Schedule 3, in entry number 4 (expenditure of Audit Scotland) in column 2, for "£1,700,000" there is substituted "£3,485,000".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Budget (Scotland) Act 2000, which makes provision, for financial year 2000/01, for payments out of the Scottish Consolidated Fund and the application of sums otherwise payable into that Fund. In particular, the Order amends that Act so as to-
(a) enable sums to be paid out of that Fund in connection with expenditure of the Scottish Ministers (through the Scottish Executive Development Department) on grants to voluntary organisations;
(b) authorise sums received by way of recoveries of such grants to be applied to meet expenditure on further grants;
(c) authorise sums received by way of income for sequestrations to be applied to meet expenditure on the Accountant in Bankruptcy; and
(d) increase from £1,700,000 to £3,485,000 the maximum amount which may be paid out of the Scottish Consolidated Fund in financial year 2000/01 for the purpose of meeting expenditure of Audit Scotland.
