The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 3(4) of the Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 1992[1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, having undertaken such consultation as appeared to them to be appropriate, hereby make the following Order: Citation and commencement 1. This Order may be cited as the Thurso College (Change of Name) (Scotland) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 1st December 1999. Change of name of Thurso College 2. The name of Thurso College is changed to The North Highland College, and the name of the board of management of that college is changed to the Board of Management of The North Highland College. That college is under the control of a board of management in terms of the Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 1992 and the Order therefore also changes the name of the board of management to reflect the new name of the College.
