1. This Order may be cited as the Education (Curriculum Minimum Content) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2022 and comes into operation on 10th March 2022.
2.—(1) The Education (Curriculum Minimum Content) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007( 3) is amended in accordance with paragraph (2).
(2) In Part 5 of Schedule 2, in the Table headed “LEARNING FOR LIFE AND WORK: Personal Development”, in the Column entitled “Personal Health” after “Pupils should have opportunities to:” insert “Receive training in (i) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); and (ii) automatic external defibrillator (AED) awareness.”.

This order amends the Education (Curriculum Minimum Content) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007 to add cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training and automatic external defibrillator (AED) awareness to the list of topics that must be taught as part of Learning for Life and Work: Personal Development at Key Stage 3 in post-primary schools.
