The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development-
being a Department designated(1) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(2) in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Union in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the said section 2(2); and
in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 56(1), (2) and (5) of the Finance Act 1973(3); and
with the consent of the Department of Finance and Personnel in respect of the powers conferred by that section 56,
makes the following Regulations.
1.-(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Scrapie (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2016 and come into operation on 1st April 2016.
(2) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954(4) shall apply to these Regulations as it shall apply to an Act of the Assembly.
2. In these Regulations "the principal Regulations" means the Scrapie (Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2008(5).
3. For the Schedule substitute the Schedule set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.

These Regulations amend the Scrapie (Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2008, as amended, by substituting a new schedule. In the new Schedule the following fees are increased-
(a)the fee for the initial flock inspection is increased from £207.61 to £233.44, and
(b)the fee for the subsequent annual inspection is increased from £93.40 to £115.04.
